This will be the 7th time we have run the Fox Valley Half Marathon for TCAMF, but it is a little different this year. Instead of running for ourselves, we are helping others to achieve their goals. It has been a hot summer of training, and looks to be a hot race day as well, but we are thankful that we are able to run and support many people who are fighting cancer. Please consider donating!
Here is more information about the charity!
Colette Miles, a 50-year old mother of two, lost her battle to breast cancer on January 16th 2011. Throughout her battle she remained positive and the beautiful person she had always been. The comfort and support Colette received from her friends and family during her battle was key in keeping her fighting. It is this memory of her courageous battle that has inspired the formation of The Colette A. Miles Foundation, also known as Colette’s Crew.
Our charity Colette’s Crew has provided comfort and support to many people and their families that have been stricken with CANCER since its inception barely 7 years ago. This half marathon race is our chance to have many runners come together at the Fox Valley Race and raise money and awareness! We are proud of all the assistance that we have given and want to continue our mission.
In 2017 we were able to accomplish all this with the help of our supporters, volunteers and donors:
• We continue to make donations to Fox Valley Food for Health. We will provide funding for families to receive cancer fighting meals delivered during treatment.
• LivingWell Cancer Resource Center. Our donation funds the Children and Teen Counseling Services. This program will help counsel children and teens when their loved one is undergoing cancer treatment, or when they are facing the loss of a loved one
• Colette’s Crew continues to provide Individual Family Support. This year we were able to help with house cleaning service, grocery/gas cards, handyman services, movers/packing company, financial Support that covers costs that many insurance plans do not cover.
• Our foundation had the honor of hosting a 9 year old’s “out of isolation party” just last week. Ella Joy had a bone marrow transplant and was in isolation for 1 year. The party was a HUGE success and Ella Joy had a blast!.
We would like to share a quote from one of our recipients diagnosed with brain/bone cancer:
“ I’m fighting everyday to live. I have anxiety and fear about my cancer. I thank god for this foundation, you make me feel whole again with all your support!
We hope that each and every one of you understands that you are helping us change the lives of real people and their families. Although some of these donations may seem small to the average person, we hope you know they are not. These families are ensured their house is cleaned, children are cared for, groceries paid for and plenty of love and support from our volunteers.
Thank you for considering to help me make a difference in the lives of these courageous people and their families. Colette’s Crew will walk alongside these people and their families when they need it most.
Every dollar makes a difference and no donation is too small.
Colette’s Crew is a federally registered 501 (c)(3) not for profit organization. All donations are fully tax deductible
Please pass the info on to friends, families and coworkers to help us raise awareness to those that need support and comfort during their cancer journey.
Thanks for considering!
