Josh and Nicole Cournaya

Josh and I will be running The Fox Valley 1/2 Marathon again for the The Colette A. Miles Foundation (recently renamed as Colette’s Crew). On September 16th we will run for our 7th year in a row! We continue to volunteer, raise awareness, and support for this wonderful charity because of the many things that we have been able to accomplish for cancer patients and their families. We continue to provide support for individual families. Some of the things we have provided this year have been: house cleaning, handyman services, grocery/gas cards, meals from Fox Valley Food for Health, packers/movers. We threw a huge “Coming out of Isolation” party for a little girl and her brother in the Fox Valley area. We also make donations to Fox Valley Food for Health in order to provide cancer fighting meals for patients during their treatments. Colette’s Crew funds the Children and Teen Counseling Services Program at The Living Well Cancer Resource Center in Geneva. This program helps counsel children and teens when their loved one is undergoing cancer treatment, or when they are faced with the loss of a loved one.
Josh and I have personally helped three friends this year by reaching out to our foundation to get them the support they need. This disease hits way too close to home, but we know we are helping them by raising funds to support our loved ones. We CAN run, so we RUN to support the people that can’t.
